Finding the perfect tools for writing your next best-seller in can be a tough battle to fight. However, I’ve told you guys just how important it is to keep handwriting before, and seeing as I get the tinglies every time I walk into Barnes and Noble’s or Michaels’ journals and stationary section, I thought I would put together a list of some amazingly inspirational and gorgeous journals that will get your inspiration juices flowing like water!

This pick is a beautiful, handmade fabric “fauxdori” (off-brand Midori) traveler’s notebook. Fauxdori’s are awesome, because they’re not as expensive and usually more customizable than actual Midori’s, but they’re also great because it’s basically a cover, you can get or make inserts and put in as much or as little as you need! Perfect for us, er… indecisive writers 😉
This is technically listed as a children’s journal (I believe), but obviously, it’d be a gorgeous addition to any writer’s desk. This one is also refillable, so add with the paper of your choice (perfect if you need blank pages or boxed!) and get yourself to writing!
This was such a random find that I picked through on Etsy, and this one is awesome, because it’s half off today only, PLUS you get a beautiful firebrand onto the leather for free. These journals would be wonderful for those of us writers that love the feeling of a real leather casing for our work, definitely check it out!
As I mentioned earlier, Michael’s is the perfect place for writers to find (or make!) incredibly inspirational journals for their handwritten books or notes. This one is unlined, so if you’re a crazy planner or you just don’t like writing traditionally, you’ll definitely want to look into this journal!
From the moment I clicked onto Staples and saw this, my jaw has been dropped. This cover is absolutely gorgeous, and it’s only $30.99, which is basically a steal for that intricate design. This is perfect for anyone doing a classic literature romance or who just wants to feel a bit more like Chaucer maybe as they’re writing.
I actually bought a version of this same journal for myself and my best friend for his birthday last year (I justified that we would have matching ones, when really I wanted one for myself, too…) I can personally tell you the pages are an absolute dream to write on and the clasp on the side really makes writing in it such an aesthetically pleasing process.
Finally, for those of you on a budget or just in love with the idea of making your own journals for your writing, you’re going to adore this super easy DIY tutorial by Lil Blue Boo on how to make your own sharpie-decorated journal using a black cover and chalk. I know I’ll definitely be trying it soon!
